I leave for Raleigh, tomorrow, and I’m sad.

I absolutely love this city, and I always miss leaving. The cars are great, the people are great, and the food is great. Okay, MOST of the food is great.

I had a good time, today. I took the ferry over from Bainbridge to Seattle, to see my sister, and we went go-karting at some place in Tukwila, WA. It was a nice venue, and the Karts were fast, and most importantly, it was a ton of fun.

But with that, I will see you soon, Seattle. I might come back in August, or December. Haven’t decided yet. Thanks for having me.

But the drivers... Well, I need the rest of the PNW Oppos to harmonize with me.

*ahem* TERRIBLE!!!!

Oh yes , the drivers are quite awful. I drove past a Honda Accord, casually driving down I-5 with no front end, weaving in and out of lanes, like there was no problem with it at all. We were cut off by some dangle sausage in a Toyota Tacoma, who, of course, didn’t indicate.

I don’t know how bad the drivers ed is in Washington, but it can’t be good. It doesn’t help that 267% of the drivers are high.

Trust you can rearrange your life so you can live where you want in a year or two. Took me 4 years to get here, but I did it. A lot of work, but worth it.

I miss Oregon drivers.

Truth. But the pinnacle of bad driving in this area is the area is Redmond/Bellevue (around Microsoft’s campus, especially) and the most severe gridlocked traffic is a mile radius from South Lake Union (Amazon)...

While nowhere holds a candle to Florida’s drivers, my least favorite thing about our local drivers is how slow they are. You’ll regularly see someone doing ten under the limit... passing someone going 10mph slower than they are.

Come back soon. And yes, the drivers are higher and higher every month. This is a fact, I commute 90-120 minutes a day on average and I see it. It’s not a sustainable trend. On the other hand, there are some beaut cars, great people, and nearby roads to be hooned. Just avoid I-effing-5.

Yeah, I-5 is the worst. But its the only way to the airport from the ferry terminal, so I gotta do what I gotta do.

If you don't mind me asking, what are you headed to Raleigh for? I'm starting a job in the area soon.

I’ll answer any Raleigh questions that I can, though.

Awesome! My girlfriend is there now so I have a pretty good knowledge of the area.

Hopefully in the North Raleigh area. Job would be in Durham but my GF lives near north hills. So somewhere between the two.
